No doubt about it. I am super tired. I don't know how I am still chugging away, it has to be pure determination that keeps me that way.
Our little one is doing pretty well. We are struggling to get weight to stick to her bones. It's a frustration, but one that will change at some point. She is quite the happy little girl, and when she's awake, she is bright eyed and bushy tailed. So much so that she becomes the center of attention to all around. She is a joy!
We've had the pleasure of having family coming to visit the past couple weeks, and they've had the pleasure of meeting our precious addition to the family. :) She is a pretty big deal! We have noticed she is starting to have a pretty strong desire to suck, which is really good for such a small fry. She loves to have her mouth swabbed with breast milk, and rolls her tongue around and sucks on the swab. It's adorable and makes my heart so happy to see her do this. Babies this young don't usually have this reflex, or much of an interest at all. I'm not surprised, after all, my children have all been fantastic eaters, and have never been known to miss a meal. It's hard to imagine they were such tiny little ones with the amount of food they were able to put away.
School is out for the summer, which means I can take a deep breath for now...until August anyway. Which will just happen to fall around the same time we plan to bring Miss Marlo home. Go figure!
For now, I won't think about it, it just makes me more tired.
Marlo and the family thank you for your continued prayers. Please be praying that her PDA will get the memo and close already! For weight gain that sticks, and for strength, so the next time she is extubated she is able to handle the transition. Oh, and don't forget Mommy and Daddy...we need rest.........
And sanity. One word for you that adds to the need for extra sanity: Teenagers. Ah, glorious teenagers!

mommy blogger. As a mother that has suffered the loss of multiple children while becoming a mother of the bride to our oldest, raising 2 young adults, an 8 year old preemie and a 6 year old tornado, I have a lot to share. I can't guarantee you will agree with everything I say, but I think you may just enjoy it. This is our life, the good, bad and ugly.
