We arrived in the Middle East in the hottest part of the summer.
People say, yeah, but it's a dry heat.... People are wrong! It's not dry! Not even maybe!
It's so hot and so humid, it takes your breath away. Because the air is so thick, breathing becomes a chore. Walking out of the airport at 1am, we found it very humid and super hot. It was our welcome to the desert, Hello!
For example, at this very moment, 9:33am, it is 102 with a heat index of 117. Several days ago, we had to run to the U.S. Embassy to renew our passports that will be expiring at the beginning of next year. That day, it had a heat index of 137 degrees! It was awful, and the car could not keep up with that kind of heat.
The funny thing about the weather forecast that we find is it often is referred to as a "wind chill".
Um, I don't think that word means what they think it means. ;)
Wind chill of 137! Wow, that is chilly! Haha!
This heat is temporary. It will be beautiful weather soon, so we are told.
We are thankful for air conditioning! Good times!
***Update***
As of 10:35am, the weather has gone from tolerable to terrible status. Temp 102, but with heat index, (aka "wind chill") we are at a balmy 133... Ew!
Pray for us, the day is early. LOL
