About Me

I'm a mommy blogger. As a mother that has suffered the loss of multiple children while becoming a mother of the bride to our oldest, raising 2 young adults, an 8 year old preemie and a 6 year old tornado, I have a lot to share. I can't guarantee you will agree with everything I say, but I think you may just enjoy it. This is our life, the good, bad and ugly. More about me.

Oy!

May 13, 2013

So much is happening and has been happening this past couple of weeks!

The BIGGEST news, is that Marlo turned 2 last week!!!  It happened so fast!  I have a bunch of pictures, and will have to load those on another day, but I have to say, I feel so blessed that she has done so well and has surpassed all the expectations of all around her!  What a little joy has been!

In not so exciting news, I spent 24 hours in observation for contractions.  Yuck.  My contractions appeared to be harder and better labor than the ladies in labor.  They were a little upset about this and decided they better shoot me up with some steroids in case baby was going to make an early appearance.  Thankfully, we were able to get things under control, but not before they blew the veins in both my hands trying to find a proper place for the IV.  That brought tears to my eyes.

Next on the list, we have an impending move.  This is not my idea of a good time.  I also am forbidden from doing anything, so it's making this move a little more painful for me than I would like.  The kids are pitching in, but let's face it, they don't know what they are doing... When we moved here we chose to wait and see where we wanted to live, and now that our lease is up, our landlord thought that raising the rent by a huge $400.00 a month would be great for him.  We started looking a while ago, couldn't find what we wanted, and then were forced out of the house when we said we wouldn't pay more.  There was no option to stay, so on we go.  It's been a little bit painful a process.

We now have not one, but two working teenagers, and not one but two teenagers driving.  One of those just finished her first semester of college classes with flying colors and a fantastic G.P.A. to boot.  We are proud of her!

Last, but not least, I spoke yesterday, on Mother's Day, as I shared our story for the first time in a public setting.  Yes, I cried.  I'm sure I could have done better, but the first time is always the hardest.  This will just be the first of many times I will share in a setting like this.  If we can turn these ashes into beauty, I will do it over and over, in hopes that someone, somehow can find healing and new hope.  I don't want our losses to be for nothing, so share I will.  If I could just finish it in my book that I started writing a little over a year ago that would help...

Baby has a little less than 8 weeks until his official due date.  Will see how much longer we really have, soon enough.  :)  It's all happening so fast!
