About Me

I'm a mommy blogger. As a mother that has suffered the loss of multiple children while becoming a mother of the bride to our oldest, raising 2 young adults, an 8 year old preemie and a 6 year old tornado, I have a lot to share. I can't guarantee you will agree with everything I say, but I think you may just enjoy it. This is our life, the good, bad and ugly. More about me.

Wedding = Shopping

Aug 23, 2010

We will be heading out of town to be a part of some joy.  My baby sister is getting married.

A little shopping needed to be done, and I don't do that well.  I am not a shopper.  I only go if I have a purpose, and always just get in and get it done.  So, in a matter of 2 hours I managed to get not one, but 3 dresses.  Not all for me though.  :)

I was a little shocked at how I fit into my "normal" size so well, and the dresses I tried on looked great, making it difficult to choose which one would be perfect.  It made me feel pretty, something I haven't felt in quite some time, so in a way this shopping trip was a good thing.  After a little debate, and with Jake's help, I made a decision.  It's a sassy little number, can't wait to wear it.

The next task was a little bit more difficult.  Buying dresses for my daughters, who were not with me.  So, with my get in and get out mentality, I braved the juniors section at a store I dislike, and found a fun dress for my oldest off the clearance rack, at a bigger bargain than I knew.  I was in shock when it rang up at $16, can't beat that.  She loved it, and it fit her perfectly.

Even harder still was buying something appropriate for my youngest.  She's a picky.  Not only a picky, she doesn't like dresses.  My little dirt magnet, yes even still; she has yet to outgrow this.  At this age, there is very little to chose from.  It's either way to dressy, something that just wouldn't fly with her, or quite the opposite, and not appropriate for a wedding.  I'm not entirely thrilled with what we found, but, it will do.  She didn't hate it, so that was another score in my book.

Weddings are fun, joyous occasions, so I very much look forward to spending time with my family in celebration.  It's just that pesky shopping part, I could do without.

Now to get up enough will power to brave the mall again...for shoes.
