The day started off with a call from the Doctor that brought me to tears. After a night of rest we were hopeful that Johnny would be doing better. The news was not what we had hoped for.
Little one had a rough night, the infection was growing, not getting better, and they decided he needed a blood transfusion and a lumbar puncture to check for Meningitis. He was given more medication to help control the seizures, which in turn puts him under an even heavier sedation. We were surprised to find out that the Meningitis check turned out to be positive, even the Doctor seemed a little shocked. So a diagnosis, and not a good one. This is extremely rare, and could have easily taken his little precious life by now had we not been paying attention.
He will now be in the NICU for at least 3 more weeks. We are praying that it won't be any longer than that, but, whatever it takes to get him well is what we want. He is still so very sick and it's hard to watch him struggle for his life. It's day by day right now, and we are thankful for each minute and hour that passes. Our little boy is strong, and we have hope that he will be healed from this. We thank you all for your prayers, please know that they are helping us get through this tough time, and are making a difference. I will leave you with a picture of our sweet baby from the NICU.

mommy blogger. As a mother that has suffered the loss of multiple children while becoming a mother of the bride to our oldest, raising 2 young adults, an 8 year old preemie and a 6 year old tornado, I have a lot to share. I can't guarantee you will agree with everything I say, but I think you may just enjoy it. This is our life, the good, bad and ugly.
