About Me

I'm a mommy blogger. As a mother that has suffered the loss of multiple children while becoming a mother of the bride to our oldest, raising 2 young adults, an 8 year old preemie and a 6 year old tornado, I have a lot to share. I can't guarantee you will agree with everything I say, but I think you may just enjoy it. This is our life, the good, bad and ugly. More about me.

Ready to POP Party

Jan 22, 2013

Throwing a party can sometimes be quite an undertaking, especially when all you want to do is be original and make it special.

Since there are no new ideas under the sun, I took this one and ran with it as far as I could with a little munchkin tugging at my pant leg.

My sister-in-law was about 4 weeks from her due date, and feeling a bit uncomfortable at the time, so I thought a baby shower would be just the thing to get her over the hump and down the homestretch.

Ready to POP was the theme for this party, and it was a fun way to celebrate the upcoming arrival of my little niece.

There was special flavored POPcorn, old fashioned sodaPOP, a game of how big a bubble can you blow before it POP's and pink goodies to satisfy our overload of sugar that day.  I even found Dill Pickle flavored POPcorn, which was by far better than the cotton candy and caramel flavors!  YUM!

This is a little glimpse of how it looked:

The only slight fail of the day were the baby footprint cookies that looked like bigfoot and not baby feet.  Oh well, no big loss.  :)

Bigfoot baby cookies.  Ha!

The funny of the day was what happened after the party and I was looking at pictures from the gathering.  This next picture looks as though the pregnant lady is holding a beer while getting measured around her belly.  A little redneck at our party.  ;)

It's just a diet root beer ;)

Winner of the bubble blowing!

Marlo, helping Auntie open presents.

Me and my little cutie!  :)  All pooped out from the party.

It was a good day, spent with good friends and family to celebrate an exciting day.  So glad I was able to be a part of something so special.
