Of Boogers and Such

Oh my Goodness!!!

There are way too many boogery noses in this house...  Marlo included.  :(

She has her very first cold.  We did everything we could do since she has been home to keep her well, and finally the inevitable happened.

Wednesday night she was restless and a bit out of sorts, and I noticed she was warm.  She had a fever and my heart sunk.  We were all scared for her.  Ugh, this preemie stuff will never get any easier will it??

Anyway, after a very long night of worry, I was able to get her in to see the pediatrician.

Diagnosis:  Ear Infection in her right ear, and a booger virus.  You know, the kind that keeps flowing like a faucet.  We thought she was on the mend, until whammo!  Last nigh the boogers started up again, and she struggled to sleep.  She seemed down right ticked off for the majority of the night.

Lovely.  We are tired, and she is blowing bubbles from her cute little nose.  Makes me feel like I failed somehow to keep her safe.  It's disappointing.

The older 3 came down with the same bug after Miss Marlo caught it.  It's boogers and kleenex galore around here.  Yuck.

On another note:  Marlo isn't eating her bottles.  Still getting up at night for one or two sometimes, but now is not finishing them.  She is 11 months old, but just 8 months adjusted...so I don't know if she is weaning herself, or just being stubborn, or just not feeling well enough to eat them...

What do you think??  I know some of you mom's have just recently gone through the bottle weaning, and some of you are experienced with preemies....
