About Me

I'm a mommy blogger. As a mother that has suffered the loss of multiple children while becoming a mother of the bride to our oldest, raising 2 young adults, an 8 year old preemie and a 6 year old tornado, I have a lot to share. I can't guarantee you will agree with everything I say, but I think you may just enjoy it. This is our life, the good, bad and ugly. More about me.

Um....YUM!

Aug 24, 2015

This stuff is the bombdiggity!

As in there are few things better than this.  Maybe a few things, but certainly not many.

Without further ado.

This is a jar of delicious Salted Caramel Sauce.  We had Ice Cream, and I had made brownies, but something was missing, and this was IT!

It really is a thing of beauty and makes my mouth sing it's praises.

Four ingredients:
Sugar
Butter
Heavy Cream
Salt

Cook 1 cup of sugar on medium until it melts into a liquid (it will clump before it liquifies) stirring constantly.

Once it's all melted, add 6 tablespoons of butter. When adding the butter it will pop and start to get bubbly, so carefully add butter in this step. Let it incorporate, stirring constantly, with the melted sugar.

Add 1/2 cup of cream It will rise as it comes to a boil.  It will also begin to splatter when it's added to the sugar/butter mixture. Boil for 1 minute, continuing to stir.

Remove from heat, and add and stir in, 1 teaspoon of salt.

Let cool.

Do not be tempted to eat this too soon.  It will result in blistery burns.  Learned that the hard way as a kid when attempting to make candy.  OUCH.

Now you have a amazing topping for an assortment of goodies.  Bonus: It can be stored refrigerated for a few weeks.

Now you are ready to indulge in a tasty treat, that can even be eaten by the spoonful... I'm pretty guilty of that one!  Caught red handed a few times, spoon in hand.  Toddlers aren't very forgiving.  :)
