I've slacked on my posts. Most of you may not care to much about that, but, for me this is how I keep record of things happening in our home and life, so one day I can look back and show the kiddo's.
Slapping my own hand for letting this get so far behind....
I have two partially written posts, that I started and lost focus and couldn't finish. Oh, well, Maybe one day I will complete those.
For now though, so much is going on, so I need to do an update.
Marlo is fabulous! Getting so big, speaking so well, and still making us smile. She is a toddler, and as a toddler and two year old, she can get frustrated and melt down on occasion. We are finding her triggers and we try to help her through them. We've discovered if she is melting down and we can get her to laugh, all will be well in her world (and ours) once again. She knows how to use my new iphone, better than me, and swipes it every chance she gets. She is busy, and knows what she wants. It's good to be decisive, but there are days her decisiveness makes us very, very tired. :) She loves her baby brother, and like to help when I am giving him a bottle. It's very sweet. She started a dance class, and freaked out about leaving me to go behind the closed doors the first few times. After a little talk with her before heading out to the 4th class, I was able to get her to see that it was FUN, and she could go in there and not cry. :) She agreed and went in without a tear shed that day. We will get to see her do a little dance in a few weeks, and then a recital in May. She looks super cute in her little leotard and pink tights. Need to get a better picture to post.
At her well check last month she weighed in at 25lbs, and 3 ft tall. Still a tiny little thing.
Asher, Asher, Asher... Oh my big boy Asher! He is large and in charge. As far as my babies have grown, he is far surpassing what they did in growth. Daddy gave him one job to do when he was born, and that was to eat. He took it seriously! When Philip was born, Allison was 15 months old, and only weighed 18lbs. Asher in all his 4 month glory weighed 14lbs11oz at the 4 month well check, and today, just a couple weeks later weighs in at 16lb 2oz. He was 25.25 in his length, and is now wearing size 6 month clothes. He laughs, smiles, rolls around, and will only sleep on his belly. He will not stay on his back, and really enjoys tummy time. He eats and eats and eats. As long as he's fed he's pretty happy. This past week he cut TWO teeth! Ugh. I'm still nursing, so that is really, really disappointing. It's been sad watching him cut teeth so early, and how unhappy it's made him, but he seems to perk up as soon as that tooth is through. His hair fell out and is now growing back in. It looks like he is growing a flat top, the way it's all sticky uppy. :) So cute, and such an easy going baby. We hit the jackpot with this one!
We have 2 in high school, and one taking college courses. Our freshman is on the swim team, and is starting to really improve, beating previous times, and looking strong. We stepped out of our comfort zone and enrolled the kids in the local high school. It's tough to let them go with all the 3200 other students, but we did it, and we are all learning through the process. There have been some bumps, but, we are working through them. Our oldest is just 3 weeks away from an 18th birthday. CANNOT BELIEVE THIS!!!! Seriously, where does the time go?
Busy at the church, busy at home, busy with kids, and busy with life...NOT to busy however to be grateful and thankful every day for each of these kids we've been given, and a life blessed with so many things.
Every day is a gift. Every day I remind myself of that, and thank God above for all things we've been given.
