It's been 9 whole weeks since Miss Marlo was born. Finally, by 8 weeks she had doubled her birth weight. She started out at a teeny tiny 1lb 11oz, and today weighs in at a hefty 3lbs 10oz.
She is still having A's and B's...although less B's. She is up to 34cc's of milk every 3 hours, and is slowly starting to figure out what breastfeeding is all about. Today she seemed to get it a little more, and was quite the aggressive little snorty face. She wore clothes for the first time this week. She hates getting dressed, and of course mama loves to see her all dolled up.
She talked to Daddy yesterday, via Skype. I think Daddy was on cloud nine!
Please be praying that things start clicking and she advances at a faster rate than the nurses think she will...at this point they don't think she will come home before the end of August. Her due date was August 8, and we had hoped to take her home by then. It's just 4 weeks away, and she has a lot to accomplish by then to make it happen. I know it's possible, or they wouldn't have said it was in the beginning. We need that brain to grow and all the connections to connect so she breathes correctly, eats correctly and all organs function properly. It's a big job, for such a little girl.

mommy blogger. As a mother that has suffered the loss of multiple children while becoming a mother of the bride to our oldest, raising 2 young adults, an 8 year old preemie and a 6 year old tornado, I have a lot to share. I can't guarantee you will agree with everything I say, but I think you may just enjoy it. This is our life, the good, bad and ugly.
