About Me

I'm a mommy blogger. As a mother that has suffered the loss of multiple children while becoming a mother of the bride to our oldest, raising 2 young adults, an 8 year old preemie and a 6 year old tornado, I have a lot to share. I can't guarantee you will agree with everything I say, but I think you may just enjoy it. This is our life, the good, bad and ugly. More about me.

Sometimes up and Sometimes down

Jun 7, 2011

Today was UP, yesterday was definitely down.

This is a roller coaster ride like no other.  Some days we are enjoying the view from the top, and other days our hearts are beating in our throats.  It's hard to imagine how it could be so emotionally draining every day, but it is just that.

Marlo had a very good day.  She must have been happy to be ONE MONTH OLD today!!!  I'm sure that must have made her feel like she was on top of the world, because she was soaring!  Today she managed to be so strong, and breathed like a champ, making both Mama and Daddy very proud. The new ventilation really leaves it up to her to do the breathing, if she forgets, nothing does it for her.  That is something that scares us beyond belief.  She had a couple A's and B's (Apnea's and Bradycardias) today, but just a COUPLE, and they were when she was being suctioned and when she had a poo of gargantuan proportion that would leave anyone in awe of the mess she was able to make.  It was a poo overload, and I'm sure all the extra grams she gained yesterday went right down the toilet with that one.  :)

Tomorrow she will have an eye test.  We have been told that these little babies have a hard time after this test, and it's possible she has a rough day because of it.  We are hopeful she will be just fine and continues to be strong enough to well enough not to be tubed again.

Today Marlo had a very good day.  Today was a win.  We pray that she continues to win on this type of support...as it really means it is all up to our little one...and if she is able to keep doing this, it's a really huge deal.
Thanks for praying.
