About Me

I'm a mommy blogger. As a mother that has suffered the loss of multiple children while becoming a mother of the bride to our oldest, raising 2 young adults, an 8 year old preemie and a 6 year old tornado, I have a lot to share. I can't guarantee you will agree with everything I say, but I think you may just enjoy it. This is our life, the good, bad and ugly. More about me.

Just to see Her

Jun 10, 2011

Everyday it's the same thing over and over again, and it's tiring.  To see our Miss Marlo and her bright eyes gives us a renewed purpose everyday that we go to spend with her.

She is personality plus, and then add a bunch more.  The nurses always talk about how fun she is, and how much they like her.  It makes us happy to hear how much she is loved when we are away.  She gives them a lot of entertainment.

Most preemie babies, just lay there and sleep about 22 hours a day.  Marlo on the other hand, greets the nurses with big round beautiful eyes, and wiggles.  It's unusual for a baby this young to respond to voices, and stimuli in a positive way.  They don't like it.  They want to be contained, and left alone.  This is most definitely NOT how our girl acts.

Marlo is Busy!  She has places to go, and people to meet.  She is a social butterfly.  Marlo likes to be touched, doesn't like to be contained most of the time, and is awake when things are going on that she wants to participate in.  She moves around constantly, kicks her feet out and lounges around like she is laying on a beach getting a suntan.  She is happy.  It's very apparent by how she acts.  She is truly a joy to watch.  If I am not holding her, I sit and just watch her, and marvel at how amazing this precious little girl is.

Just to see her is to love her, as if I needed any excuse...but I hear it from the nursing staff, and it warms my heart tremendously to know that God has placed some special people in our lives to find the same joy in our little one, as we do.

She is still rocking the "Adina" machine and breathing like a champ...that is when she isn't holding her breath.  She had a few episodes of that this afternoon while I was holding her.  But, then came a big mess in her diaper, and apparently having a poo is hard work for such a little girl, which totally justifies holding your breath and having your heart rate slow to a crashing halt!

She is just trying to make sure we are paying attention to her every move.  Good job Marlo, you've got your Mama's attention!  Boy do you ever have it!  :)   It was a good day.
