I have to say, I love spending time with my family, but coming home always feels so nice. Looking forward to actually sleeping, in my bed. :) Oh, sweet sleep, how I've missed you.
My sisters wedding was beautiful. We all had a fantastic time celebrating her day. One problem with the week, was.... I forgot my camera. No pictures! Ugh! I am so irritated about this. We will have to wait until the photographer gets my sister the pictures, and then, well we are at the mercy of her lack of gettin things done in a timely matter. Bummer. I will bug her about it until I get some results, she will eventually get some to me just to shut me up.
I played with my 2 little nieces, they were adorable. Madi is at the end of potty training, but still in the phase of saying "I did it" when she is done. It was a party when she "did it" about 20 times a day. She would even go so far to say "you did it" and clap her hands for whomever came out of the bathroom when she was around. Too cute! Little Kathleen turned 1 a month ago, and is now walking. She looks like she just got off a horse after a long days ride as she waddles around the house. She now touches things she should not, and hears the word "no" often. She has a silly gruff laugh that cracks me up, quite a little character. Those two little darlings keep life interesting for sure. I wish we lived closer.
Jake and I took a little trip to upstate New York, and saw a few of the sites. It was beautiful. I wish it had been just a few weeks later, so I could witness the colors of fall on the trees. It's my favorite time of the year. Maybe someday.
This morning was a little chaotic. Our plane left at 6am this morning, but before we could get to the airport, we had to wake up the kids. They were in the hotel room next to ours, sawing logs, and oblivious to the phone ringing and the door trying to be opened to get them up at 4am. I was a bit nervous that we weren't going to get the hooligans out of bed in time to catch our plane. They can sleep through anything. The real problem was that they hooked the latch that won't allow anyone in the room whether they have a key or not. Alli thought the phone ringing was the alarm clock which she has mastered the art of sleeping through. Kinda funny, and nerve wracking at the same time. They finally awakened from their comas, and we were off, only to get home to a car parked at the airport with a dead battery, in 105 degree heat. Very nice.
We are home now, and were greeted by a very happy Herbie. Boy was he glad to see us. :)

mommy blogger. As a mother that has suffered the loss of multiple children while becoming a mother of the bride to our oldest, raising 2 young adults, an 8 year old preemie and a 6 year old tornado, I have a lot to share. I can't guarantee you will agree with everything I say, but I think you may just enjoy it. This is our life, the good, bad and ugly.
