Yesterday, my 13 year old son said something that resembled that of a grown mature adult.
"Mom, I can't wait until I am a Dad, so I can understand why you and Dad do the things you do."
Um, hello! Now that is some thinking! :)
I dug a little deeper and asked why. Mostly it comes down to that we do and say things that seem like they shouldn't be a big deal, and he just would like to have a better understanding of why. He felt like if he had kids he would understand it better.
Sometimes we wonder if they will ever get it. This to me was a hint that he is looking forward to one day "getting it".
It made me smile. Love him!

mommy blogger. As a mother that has suffered the loss of multiple children while becoming a mother of the bride to our oldest, raising 2 young adults, an 8 year old preemie and a 6 year old tornado, I have a lot to share. I can't guarantee you will agree with everything I say, but I think you may just enjoy it. This is our life, the good, bad and ugly.
