We have had company and it's been great having them here, and we have been busy. We will be sad to see them go when they head back for the great white north they call home. :)
I was just thinking about when my kiddo's were little. Having a little 2 year old running around the house this week has reminded me of some of the things we did that were routine at that age.
Namely, Philip comes to mind. Every night before he closed his eyes to sleep, I would tuck him in and tickle him to hear him laugh his deep belly laugh, we would pray, give lots of hugs and kisses, and then he would ask every night... "Pop pop in the da moning, Mommy?" Which was code for," hey lady what's for breakfast!?" He really liked Pop Tarts, and sometimes we would have them and sometimes we wouldn't, but most nights he would ask, hoping beyond all hopes, he would get a pop tart for breakfast.
Oh, I was blessed with good eaters! Thank goodness too, it's hard to have picky little ones.
Emma, had special words for her favorites, some that took me awhile to figure out, but once we did they became the new names of these foods for awhile. She loved cucumbers, and still does, but it was an especially difficult word to say for a little gal. Cucumber = Boombuhbuh, and Popsicle = Gockagoey...that was a weird one. :) And she drank watey, not water.
Allison did pretty well with most words, her tough one was spaghetti, as it is with most kids. It was Scabetti for a long time. Mostly though, she just liked the sound of her voice and talked non-stop. Haha, she was so funny, with a finger ready to point at everything asking, "what's that" a hundred times a day and most of the time not waiting for an answer before she moved to the next "what's that". She also drove her cousin that was 4 months older insane by taking her most prized possession...her "whippers", as Hannah called them. With a very sad voice Hannah would cry..."Alli's got my whippers". I can just imagine that much like the little girl on Finding Nemo that shakes the fish and the psycho music plays when she enters the room, that must have been what poor Hannah felt when Alli arrived at her house, and immediately put on her slippers. =)
Back in the day. Life seemed more simple back then.

mommy blogger. As a mother that has suffered the loss of multiple children while becoming a mother of the bride to our oldest, raising 2 young adults, an 8 year old preemie and a 6 year old tornado, I have a lot to share. I can't guarantee you will agree with everything I say, but I think you may just enjoy it. This is our life, the good, bad and ugly.
